Moral teachings

Light in the sky comes from the sun.
Light in life comes from letting go.

Merit always protects and safeguards the righteous and those who live virtuously.

Dhamma teachings that lead the mind to peace.

It is the nature of life to have and then to have not.
The world constantly shifts—like darkness followed by light.
Do not be too saddened or too overjoyed by anything.

If those around you misunderstand you, explain yourself once—just once.
If they have no intention to believe you, no matter how many times you explain, they still won’t.

Use the mind that tends to criticize others
to reflect and correct yourself.
Use the heart that easily forgives yourself
to forgive others as well.

Live in a way that brings others peace of mind,
and when you leave, let them remember you with longing—
not as someone who burdened them,
nor someone they were eager to see go.”

— His Holiness the Supreme Patriarch of Thailand,
Somdet Phra Ariyavongsagatayana (Amborn Ambaro)
